In collaboration with Dr. David Schwartz at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), here at Duke University Medical Center we are currently striving to find genes which may cause pulmonary fibrosis. Finding the genes which play a role in pulmonary fibrosis is the first step at developing better methods for early diagnosis and improved treatment for pulmonary fibrosis.
If you have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, or have a family member who has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, you may participate in this study and further our understanding of this disease.
